Manor House Lindley Wedding Videography // Katie & Ben
Some wedding days just feel like they’re meant to be. and Katie and Ben’s Manor House Lindley wedding was one of those days. From the first moments of morning light streaming through the windows to their emotional evening speeches, everything about their day felt warm, personal, and beautifully real. Ben’s vows and speeches really brought home how much Katie had changed his life, when I was putting the edit for their trailer together it was this angle that I felt worked to create the emotional story for their film.
Morning at the Manor
Katie and her bridesmaids spent the morning in the main suite at Manor House Lindley, styled with boutique glamour that set the tone perfectly for the day ahead. There’s something special about having everything in one place. The calm of getting ready just steps away from the ceremony allows the morning to unfold naturally — no stress, no rushing, just the quiet excitement that builds before the wedding. I always find this helpd create a more relaxed and upbeat atmosphere for preparation and with Champagne flowing freely, Katie’s morning was relaxed surrounded by her family and friends.
Ben and the groomsmen were close by too, they got ready in the stunning art-deco style bar at Manor House Lindley. I would highly recommend getting ready here for either party, the light is beautiful and the bar itself is a throwback to a 1920’s New York bar, it oozes style and looks beautiful as a backdrop for morning preparations. It’s also really easy to get a drink too!
The Ceremony in the Coach House
The Coach House is one of Manor House Lindley’s most breathtaking spaces filled with soft natural light, double height ceilings, stylish decor, and large windows that give it a timeless, romantic feel. It’s a dream for both photographers and filmmakers, offering a backdrop that enhances the emotion of the moment rather than distracting from it.
As Katie walked down the aisle, the emotion was unmistakable. Their heartfelt vows were personal and deeply moving — one of those rare moments where you can feel every word. As a filmmaker, it’s these small, honest moments that bring a story to life and these are the moments I used to narrate their story in the edit.
Drinks, Sunshine & The Helios 44-2 Lens
After the ceremony, guests spilled out into the gardens, champagne in hand, to beautiful summers day. Later in the day with the sun setting, Katie and Ben headed out into the grounds of the Manor House Lindlay for a short session of couple photos. I took my vintage Helios 44-2 lens for this. The technical imperfections of this 1970’s lens create the most beautiful flares and light leaks on the footage if you shoot wide open into the sun. With Katie and Ben’s film in mind, I knew I wanted a dream like sequence to open the film and trailer and the Helios lens is prefect for creating that look. The lens is so unique that is is used in film and TV productions and has famously been used by Academy Award winning Cinematographer Greig Fraser on The Batman and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 2.
Of course the lenses were adapted a little for a Hollywood production but the unique look and flare is the reason they were used, the same reason I love this lens for wedding videography.
