Megan and Dom both had their pre-wedding preparation at Burtonfields Hall and with a rare summers day on the cards, an outdoor ceremony on the rear lawn. 2024 has been a challenging year for outdoor weddings and it made a wonderful change to be bathed in warm sun for the ceremony as Megan arrived with her father. Confetti rained down on Megan and Dom before they spent the drinks reception chatting, laughing and drinking the afternoon away with cocktails in the sun. 

After the wedding breakfast the sun was setting over the front garden and myself and photographer Joss Denham made the most of the low sun for some couple time. I love shooting this part of the day in the low sun, especially with my Helios 44-2 lens, this vintage lens from the old USSR is well known for its swirly bokah and ethereal flare and it creates unique film images that really work in the low sun. It’s a lens that has been used on Dune 2 and The Joker, despite its very modest cost, such is the uniqueness of the image it produces.
